The planetoid in the center of the Ark only : occupies about 2/5 of the forge area. All the cutscene indicates is that : the ring is closer to the outside of the forge than it is to the planetoid : (and even that isn't certain). It's entirely possible that the forge could : be 2-3 thousand kilometers greater in diameter than a Halo ring, changing : the overall Ark diameter by about 20,000 km. : In the original image, Stephen suggested the Ark diameter be about 90k-100k
I should have done one other thing to rectify and reduce the margin of error, but it came to me too late and I'd posted already. I believe the small "arms" are literally half the size and shape of the large ones. By taking an intact small arm and doubling its size, I could determine the end point of a large arm. This wouldn't take any of the curvature into account, but then, a proper top view of the structure wouldn't either. It would be a closer calculation.
