So why does : infantry have shields, but humans do not?? : Spartan Laser - Where did this come from? It's not plasma... and its not : explosive... its a laser. Like again - I just dont see where this comes : from. Why don't UNSC ships use similar technology other than the largely : ineffective archer missles?? : Like the time between Halo 1 through 3 is very short ... no more than a few : months. I find it hard to believe that the UNSC could make these : advancements so fast. From a gameplay point of view, I love it. But from : the story standpoint - I am just confused. : Can anyone explain where this eqiupment comes from and why its not used to : combat the Covies in space?? Technology doesn't just happen, it takes a long time for something to go from concept to reality. The Spartan Laser and Bubble Shield have probably been in the works for a long time, and are just now ready for use in the field. Additionally, in the other halo games we spent little or no time on Earth. Now we'll be spending a significant chunk of the game on Earth, where we have access to this experimental technology. At the moment the technology can't be implemented on ships because it is only now being used in the field. A good example would be the plasma window. Right now we have plasma windows, hwoever they are very small. It will be a long time before we have plasma windows large enough to use realistically.
