Well, shucks, Hamish noticed this when he made up Where Giants Have Fallen. ;-)

As for the Alien Pipes and M1 Enforcers, i suspect that one was entirely due to Reginald DuJour taking inspiration from Colin Brent, or something like that.
We should all know that they were stolen from Thorin, King Under the Mountain: Hence the description that they reminded you of a book you read as a child. ;-)

I am not too certain with the S'pht'Kr Defenders, however. It's always possible that the god knew of their exoskeletons, but i don't think they ever wore those things on Lh'owon. That's conjecture from me, and i have little to support it.
