I tested again and it seems inconsistent. Sometimes it cuts damage from the purple beast, sometimes it doesn't. It's strange. The source code is the only thing that could clear this up. As you're aware, I'm using the older version of pathways (without floor/ceiling textures). I decided to test the bug that Earthtopus discovered that could give you multiple Alien Gemstones by resting in the last room of ok who else wants some. It worked, every time a greater nightmare popped up, I could kill him for another gemstone. Not only that, but I could fit up to 4 gemstones in the lead box. I can generate even more, but then I have to deal with the HP draining effect of the radiation. Also, drinking the pale violet potion before resting means that you won't awake when an enemy attacks until it wears off. By doing that, I found that each increment of rest generates another enemy on OWEWS. The lead box can be a bit random in whether stuff can fit into it or not. Sometimes items go in, then I put more stuff in and they don't. The gold ingot can fit with 2 gemstones, for example. I can put a silver medal or diamond necklace in with less stuff, then with more stuff I can't. Also, the lead box doesn't hold as much ammo as the canvas bag. I wonder how that coding works.
