: The first thing in the video is the chapter screen "Ambush" ... and
: then later you complain about ... ambushes :). You will get used to that
: style. So much of Tempus Irae is all about going up stairs and having
: things beam in behind you ... good times.
Heh. At least in Phoenix the ambushes are a little more expected, regular, and enjoyable rather than stupid and annoying. Interestingly enough, while Phoenix is supposed to be really hard, I've managed to get through a good portion (I'm currently at the start of Stone Temple Pilates) on Total Carnage, and while I have died a good bit, it doesn't feel like it's way above my level - just a nice challenge. Speaking of playthroughs, I should finish playing Evil and Tempus Irae myself.
: Like the idea of puns with dire.... I started to remember the start of the
: level as I watched, and no it didn't look quite like that. Fun with
: textures though, was fun to watch walking on water.
My thought exactly. Maybe they should just turn off the HD textures from here on out. I know it won't look quite as nice when the textures do match, but when they don't, it's just weird. Same goes for the HD monsters, because I don't know if there are any other monsters in here with new graphics - there probably are, but I can't remember them. One good thing is that a number of other scenarios have their own HD graphics - Tempus Irae definitely has hi-res textures packed in, and I believe the weapons are all the same as in Infinity, so they can definitely use the HD weapons. As for Phoenix, the only plugin worth having is the altered XBLA HUD - nothing else is designed for Phoenix, and the built-in graphics are good enough on their own.
