No, there is a distinct difference between customisation and a default interface that isn't user friendly, especially when the interface presented to other users affects the overall system. Let me demonstrate by example. If I choose to use a view on this forum that more suits my preferences and only shows the initial posting in each thread, I save myself a lot of loading time, and threads which attract a lot of responses don't push other threads with less attraction to the bottom of the screen, or another page. Now that's fine for me, but if I post a subject which doesn't attract much attention, and another post made shortly afterwards does attract a large number of replies, what happens? To me, there is no difference. Each post is equally visible. But to everyone else who hasn't made the same interface change as myself, there is a massive difference; the post may have disappeared to the bottom of the screen, or be on another page entirely. This means that the default interface can negatively impact the overall forum, regardless of what choice I make. : You don't like the fact that the default display is 1 week (which leads to
