You have got to be kidding me. Customization options are there to allow everyone to choose the way they want to see things. If we were all the same person, they wouldn't be necessary... but I can GUARANTEE you that if you had this forum set up EXACTLY the way you liked it, I'd probably never come back. I wouldn't blame it on a broken interface, though, unless you simply removed any customization options. What you're saying here is that any website that offers you the option to customize the data displayed to your own tastes is, by default, busted at the outset and simply giving you ways around the problem. That's the most negative spin I've ever heard applied to choice. You don't like the fact that the default display is 1 week (which leads to large load times)? Blame that on my laziness - it was set when this forum opened, in May 1999, and we got a few hundred posts a week. Now we get a few hundred posts a DAY - you're right, I should have reduced the default display to 2 or 3 days. I never did, though - because I'm lazy, and because it's just as easy for you to do it. (And because many people who visit here are on fast connections, and LIKE a full week's display at once.) I'm having trouble getting my mind around your concepts of useability. I really, really, really want to see some examples of your web design. |
