If there is no advantage, there is no real difference, right? I believe they're unbalanced.

Some more excellent points. The scope of this project could become too enormous to collect any meaningful data. By limiting it to just Blood Gulch, perhaps we could get enough comparable data to develop some statistical significance. I mean, if we just play five sets of games, what good will that do? None at all. I'm thinking that ideally we'll collect 50 sets (or 100 games) of data. But that's the best case scenario it will probably be more like half of that and then see what we come up with. Perhaps there will be no trend perhaps the trend will be undeniable, that's what I'm attempting to find out. Big waste of time? Maybe. Great excuse to play more Halo? Definitely.

I am already considering the effect roles will play. One thing good about our small little society here is that our roles are pretty much determined. But in each two game set, we will attempt to perform the same tasks. But roles are very subjective. That just throws a big wrench into it... one thing I can assure you is that no one will be sandbagging.

Kills don't matter? I'll end up collecting kill data from every match and I'll wager a fistful of dollars that the winning team (on average) has more kills! I'll agree that they don't count towards the score and often times the biggest killer is on the losing team, but they most definitely matter. Killing is the basis of Halo.
