You know, the back to nature dudes that hate technology and run off into a mountain, wall themselves in, declare themselves their own country, shoot any federal agents on sight, and have a remakable amount of technology stored up with them despite their professed beliefs :P? Or maybe it was like what happened during the civil war. Or the revolutionary war. Or maybe, just maybe, they actually are just pirates, criminals, et al.
