I would add that all weapons should be held in the utmost respect. Coming from years of training, I am well aware that firearms are designed to kill and unless the weapon damages the central nervous system, the death is not instant. That is the most compelling reason for police to take hand-to-hand combat training. What struck me with your words beyond the insightful visions was that you choose not to make a big deal about cutting the throat (or below the throat) of an animal, I would guess because you were used to this from growing up around animal slaughtering. To me, knives are a bit more vicious than firearms to fight with or against but that is not my point. My point is that the will to live can be very strong but life in general is quite fragile -- Please treat all weapons with respect, not because they are weapons, but because you value life and the life you save might be your own. Don't be stupid when it comes to weapons or anything when a life could be on the line. *End of this public announcement*
