Still loved Abrams' Star Trek, but for different reasons (my dad and I both love that movie, I've loved having something "recent" to really talk in detail with him about, and he's the reason I even care about ST in the first place). : But I think you're reading too much into marketing. Game marketing is almost : universally bad right now. The only bright spots have been in Halo & : Gears, oddly enough - Mad World, Ashes to Ashes, Believe, Prepare to Drop, : Deliver Hope. Maybe those are cynical too, I dunno, but I am looking : forward to seeing what they do for H4. I think this is a fair assessment. There are two problems people are having: (1) Bungie's marketing style was much different than 343i/Microsoft's (2) We are all remembering ad campaigns from the last few years. H3 was the end of a trilogy, and they went that direction with the ads. Gears was a new game that MS was putting a lot of faith in; it paid off. H4 is a new beast, it's the first core Halo game made without Bungie. They are trying a lot of new things with the game, pushing a lot of boundaries. It makes sense that the advertising would strike a middle ground between trying something new for the franchise (the music and presentation) while playing it safe (the chosen music being popular). H4 may be a continuation of Halo, but it's being treated as new, unexplored territory in a lot of ways. I don't think that's a bad decision. /The music also makes sense since it's been remixed tracks from the H4 OST
