In Response To: ArmsTech Called (Hawki) : I guess I should clarify that seeing the video, I've become iffy about the : Mantis. Not by virtue of it being a mech. Not by virtue of it being in : this series. But the fact that Spartans are driving it. Kind of like the : equivalent of Jedi using rocket launchers because while one thing may be : able to carve out more death and destruction, it detracts from their : 'essence' IMO. Spartans, like the Jedi who are steeped in tradition, are sensible warriors who can acknowledge their flaws and supplement their actions with superior firepower. It doesn't strike me as odd that this new independent branch is creating a "Spartan cavalry squadron" with shiny new walkers. Besides, they wouldn't have trained the Two and Three's to operate everything from a Mongoose to a Longsword and beyond.
