Pretty much what I suspected, but hey, compiling hints is always good. For what it's worth, I suspect the Prometheans are actually harvested humans from Installation 07 rather than Forerunners. Certainly it's something Faber would do, and it seems that the Didact (whichever one we're facing) isn't exactly an ally in the situation.
