And who is that supposed to be if not actual forerunner descendants? On some "evolved-in-isolation" type shit? Or what about the descendents of our heroes from Cryptum who we should be seeing their story in primordium, etc?

Bah, thats my thing about this book -- I wonder if its not as *neat* as the previous books because of all these open ended plot threads. At the very least we'll know more about the attackers in the next book (and on that note it could be a seal team 6 for the arbiter, cuz surely he can't be unawares of various plots against him) since that was the ending cliffhanger. But the other open threads and links? thats the stuff we pine over -- and they need to be fulfilling and not cheap.
