I was expecting Parangosky to be revealed as Osman's mother/grandmother for some reason. Considering her position, Parangosky would have known all of the original Spartan II candidates and their backgrounds so I imagine if she has objected she could have intervened but when it comes to her "interrogation" of Halsey near the end of the book she seemed quite affected by the clones and what happened there.

Maybe she's annoyed at Halsey at causing unnecessary suffering for many civilian families and parents or maybe, just maybe it could be more personal.

Parangosky looks out for Osman and she's grooming her for the role, even if she wasn't the most ideal candidate.

Something to consider even if it doesn't go anywhere.
