They use tools like Sapien and Guerilla. Deleting a : grunt would be extremely easy, as would changing what it does... Where in my post did I indicate that there would be technical difficulties in editing or removing the grunt? I said that they might not do it because they've stated repeatedly they want absolutely as little change to the gameplay as possible, which probably means preserving placement and mechanical behavior of dynamic objects wherever possible.
