I haven't seen much of it other than the pieces done for Waypoint, but I like those, and BS Angel said in the last update that from now she's just calling them animated because it's more accurate. : The only way I can figure is that they are not intended for the Master Chief
I assumed they weren't going to spoil the main story-- maybe give foreshadowing, but not spoil it. There's a library, why wouldn't they leave something to explain what this ring is? Anyway, given two levels are set entirely on the Pillar of Autumn, another two are set almost entirely on (a?) Covenant ship(s?), and you move through a bunch of human and Covenant encampments in the other levels, it's safe to assume about half the terminals won't be Forerunner.
