As I was reading, I was very unsure about use of the Arbiter here. Why would the huge antagonist boss man choose to go right into the center of a flood infestation, and risk contamination of his escape phantom? As I approached the end, I think having a big bad worked out pretty well.

Personally, I think I would have preferred to see Half-Jaw in place of Arbiter (he has a whole fleet to coordinate, after all), but reading up at the halo wiki suggests he's busy elsewhere at the time this is going on.

Awesome stuff going on here, can't wait to see how you plan to end it!
