: Circumference begins. The Master Chief is back on The Pillar of Autumn at

: August 30, 2552 - 1652 Hours. Noble arrives at the shipyard in Azod.

: The game rearranges some things.

: - Cortana was on the ship before the Master Chief was in the novel.
: - Master Chief was on Reach, testing the MJOLNIR uplink with Cortana on
: August 27, 2552. With no mention of Covenant yet. Surely ONI can't hide

: - The timeline above leaves the Pillar of Autumn in-system at Reach for
: twelve hours longer than stated in the novel. But the gap in the book
: between them leaving, and arriving at Halo, is not a chapter break, with a
: time/date. It is a simple line break. So we don't know when they actually
: left, only when they got there. It's possible Keyes came back to get
: Cortana at Halsey's request.

: While yeah, it changes some stuff, it doesn't ruin the entire book. And yes,
: I'm reading way too far into it, when Bungie's word is law.

: if the times in the novel were even looked at, etc. I can take it at face

I guess this is just Bungie's way of confusing us all. The events of the game fit near-perfectly with the events of the book when you take times and dates out of consideration.
