I don't *THINK* it does. I haven't finished reading it, but the new info in the back, all those pages they added, has a subsection about WINTER CONTINGENCY, and some other ties to the game. I think they moved some stuff around, time wise, to leave a gap for Keyes to go pick up the package.

Even if they didn't, it really doesn't seem like much of a stretch to me.
