How can it be worse, or even as bad as in Halo 2?

The bad part of Halo 2's ending was that it was an unintentional, poorly set-up cliffhanger. Something was supposed to happen right after that scene, but we didn't know what it was, didn't get to play it, and were improperly prepared for action to end right then.

There's no way we aren't prepared for the necessary and inevitable circumstances surrounding the end of this game-- the Fall of Reach.

We know what happens next. We can even play it-- there's a whole game devoted to it.

I can imagine that you, for your reasons, dislike this ending as much or more than you disliked Halo 2's, but I think your reasons for doing so would have to be pretty different, because there's simply not a lot in common here.
