I agree with you, but after thinking about it for quite a long time..... They meant to do this. Obviously they sunk 3 years into it, but I mean they mean to make it different. They meant to make you apart of the halo story. That's why they built the new engine for their last game, that's an incredible monetary investment for one project. They meant for it to last. For us to take it and keep it alive. Now other than that rant.
The story was good, but not Halo good. I think we've been spoiled by the large mythological space opera that was the Halo trilogy. This was more of what Halo could've been like minus the halo and forerunner hooha. alot like a future space Modern Warfare. I feel like just as I was starting to get to know the characters and care about them they all started to die off.
I have a few other qualms about the Reach campaign story... (like emile does nothing the whole game), but that's irrelevant. I feel like for the difficulties sake, I'm going through on normal so I can enjoy the story as much as possible without rage quitting every 30 seconds.
Just let t sink in a little. It takes a while to accept near the trilogy, but it's so different, it couldn't hope to compare to them.
