1. Tales of Vesperia
Okay, so Tales of Symphonia for the Gamecube is my favorite game of all time, so it's no wonder that Vesperia is on here. While the plot isn't as good as Symphonia (but it's still great), the gameplay is phenomenal. I've invested over 150 hours on this, and I'm not likely to stop soon.
2. Gears of War 2
This is the game I play online when I don't play Halo 3. To me, the way you kill people seems almost arcade-y, and I love racking me up some points in multiplayer. Horde is also exceptional. And the campaign, like Gears 1's, is awesome.
3. Fallout 3
This one I've spent over 100 hours in. The sheer amount of stuff to do just makes it an awesome game.
4. Mass Effect
I got into Mass Effect late, but when I did, the story sucked me in, making it my third favorite sci-fi story (after Halo and Gears of War). But holy crap was it hard it some places. And the crappy auto-save didn't do it any favors. But the rest was so good, those complaints seem trivial.
5. Prototype
I also enjoyed this game's story, as well, but the best thing was the gameplay. Not since GTA: Vice City had I had so much fun just going around and destroying everything. Your moveset was amazing, and the fact that it was so over-the-top just made it all the more memorable. And, as Gabe from Penny Arcade put it, you can karate chop a helicopter! What more do you want!?
6. The Orange Box
Do I really need to explain this one? It's five games for the price of one. One of them is Portal. 'Nuff said.
7. Crackdown
Something I've always loved about Crackdown, is that it's a sandbox game where you're not a villain. It's essentially a superhero game all about fighting street crime. Even if you do find out your boss is a Shisno, fighting crime just never felt so good.
8. Overlord
Despite the game's many flaws, it was still an incredibly fun game. It was like Pikmin combined with The Lord of the Rings. And they were all drunk. Even though the game doesn't have any really memorable elements, it's just fun to play.
9. Grand Theft Auto IV
First GTA game that I owned. I enjoyed the plot of Niko Bellic, even if the game could stand to have more side missions than what it did.
10. Mirror's Edge
Great soundtrack, great environment, and a not-so-great story. Don't really have much more to say.
