In Response To: Get To Know Your HBO: Top 10 360 Edition! (GrimBrother One)
Really hard one, since I haven't really played the xbox very much since 360 came and haven't really played much games besides halo. But I'll give it a shot with those I have played!
1: Tom Clancy's Rainbow 6 Vegas.
Awesomeness. It's just great! I guess the story and the characters could be a little more enthralling but it's... satisfactory. Other than that I don't really have anything to complain about. A great change of pace from the halos.
2: Gears of War 2
This is probably the best way in history to blow of steam. Call me a psychopath or whatever, I'll still giggle as I separate your upper torso from the rest of your body in a violent explosion. Just have to add that I think single player-wise gears of war 1 was better. A bit like halo 1 > halo 2 just not as dramatic a change. The big thing for GoW 2 was horde mode.
3: Tom Clancy's EndWar
Okay, I've never understood why this game never got any attention (or maybe it did? Don't live in the US so can't really tell). But it is great! That sense of power one gets when one calls down an artillery barrage simply by saying "Unit X attack hostile Y". A game where one really has to think. Tactics and strategy are essential for any self-respecting gamer and EndWar is a great way to learn IMO. Not to mention the story is excellent as well. *
4: CoD (mostly Modern Warfare 2)
Ah CoD. Say what you will but most games in this series has been an instant classic. I don't own any of these games myself but I've played it more than most of my own at friends house. Good times and hilarity in abundance. Not much else to say about it. These games are very... "standard". They're great of course but it's just nothing special to me.
5: Crackdown
Probably the second best way in history to blow of steam. Like, who among us hasn't dreamed about picking up a car and throwing it at a person, just to pick his/her body up and use it to kill anyone else in the vicinity! Well, I just find this mindless fun, like when you don't really have anything more important to do. A great way to kill a whole lot of time.
These are the only games I've played enough on the 360 to have an opinion about. I just realized this... Now I'm sad.
*The entire Tom Clancy universe is good. I haven't played that many games or read the books, but the general story is very interesting.
