Not a bad article, I'd say. I do disagree with him, but it was definitely worth reading. I figure making art is something like: -The application of human creativity to the world we live in, in order to make beautiful things. If you agree with that definition, some video games have definitely been art. Beauty is somewhat subjective (an observation that makes me want to cry, because I have a strong emotional attachment to absolutes, but it seems to be the case), but there are plenty of people out there who have found beauty in video games, video games are the result of human creativity applied to the world in which we live, and QED. (Also, I'd say that game design of the old school, including such things as chess and Go, probably does constitute art. There's such a thing as a beautiful, interesting set of rules. Go is a lot better than chess, in that regard.) -Nate
