Oh, I loved it. I haven't finished the whole of Evolutions yet, but thus far, The Mona Lisa is my favorite story. On the topic of vague wording, the sentences before (talking about how Henry's still a Covenant Elite and Lopez is still a UNSC Marine) clear up the whole thing. Having seen Sgt. Forge shoulder-tackle an Arbiter, and already knowing how badass Lopez was, I don't think the battle would end immediately with her death. I'd say they probably got locked down until the nuke hit. Then again, I suppose that's what you meant about the reader having to apply his own imagination.
