Consider how much you know about : 16th Century architecture - if you're anything like me, not very much. : Then you have to factor in that humanity now lives across many planets - : how many future colonists would be able to recognise the architecture as : centuries-old Japanese? Funny story: Just about everyone can recognize Roman/Greek/Egyptian architecture, even though that's 2000+ years old. And there's no way that humans would just leave their culture behind when moving across planets, so I'd say it should be incredibly familiar to just about everyone up there. Personally, I'm in the 'This is Dumb' camp.
