I firmly believe the first Halo movie : should focus mainly on the first Halo installation we found-- some set-up : definitely, some explanation of who or rather what the MC, the UNSC, and : the Covenant are, telling (and probably a little showing) what happened at : Reach, but mostly what we know of from the game and the book. Agree with you, Vagueness. A "Fall of Reach" Halo movie would only really be good for the narrow audience that: 1) Played Halo
So even some of the MLG types that might want to go watch it will be confused and ordinary audiences, who may only see Halo as "that game with a big ring called Halo and that Chief guy" and won't like a movie where the Chief has a more minor role, and Halo itself never even shows up at all. Your idea would probably appease the most people, and should be made first, and then a Fall of Reach prequel could be considered.
