For : example, in single player while playing "The Covenant" the : Arbiter takes down another one of the shield generators, but we just are : told by Miranda Keyes that it falls. It would have been a more enriching : experience IMHO to play through this and other scenarios as the Arbiter. : Perhaps he would spout out some dialogue while playing, or have his own : story. All in all, I understand that Halo 3 is the Masterchief's swansong, : and so he is the undisputed only true protagonist in the game. I really : doubt we've seen the last of Arbysauce, and hope to God he gets his own : Bungie game one day. Not interested in getting into the actual conversation, but your Arbiter remarks echo many I read after Halo 3's release. It seemed like many folks felt the Arbiter was a bit put on the side of Halo 3 (I think no one argues otherwise) and personally I'm just happy he finished Truth off in the way he did, so I didn't mind his absence that much. But anyway, the point is, it's quite difficult to hold this decision against Bungie, because think about it: When Halo 2 came out, half the world screamed bloody murder when they had to play as the Arbiter! So as Halo 3 goes into development, Bungie has to be thinking, "Oh good god if we put the Arbiter in THIS much, we could be crucified!", so I'm almost surprised he DID get to finish off Truth and get as much showtime as he did. I mean, personally I started off in the opinion "Eh... who is this guy with a cool voice? Where's the MC..." and then a year or more goes by and I've evolved to "Oooh I hope I get to start Halo 3 as the Arbiter." But as the audience slowly accepted the Arbiter and the Elites, Bungie was already deep in development.... Anyway, this is where your comments took my mind. Maybe everyone else already realized that...
