Then, as I found each terminal, it created an even deeper backstory for me to enjoy than Halos 1&2 combined. Then again, maybe my wife is right, and I'm just a moron. On the other hand, I do wish the Arbiter would have played a larger role. For example, in single player while playing "The Covenant" the Arbiter takes down another one of the shield generators, but we just are told by Miranda Keyes that it falls. It would have been a more enriching experience IMHO to play through this and other scenarios as the Arbiter. Perhaps he would spout out some dialogue while playing, or have his own story. All in all, I understand that Halo 3 is the Masterchief's swansong, and so he is the undisputed only true protagonist in the game. I believe they intended actual events in the game, or encounters. You never have to endure a banshee attack while playing "cortana". The br/carbine spread add another level of depth to the game for myself. Even the Halo CE pistol wasn't dead on accurate all of the time.
