This is it. Right here, this is the big thing. The Flood are like the Borg, a complete hivemind. But each Borg Drone does not possess the capacity to process the whole knowledge of the collective. One infection form does not know all the Flood's secrets. It knows it wants to feed. Rinse and repeat a hundred million times and you have a focal point, a biocomputer that can access the hivemind and understand it properly.
