: But, who? I don't think humanity had the juice in 2260 - although Delta Halo : is the closest to Earth, right? : The biomass question is the most important one. Since the Halo Effect wipes : out all lifeforms of sufficient biomass and sentience, there would not be : anything on Delta for the Flood to use. : The planets of the galaxy are only repopulated because of Didact's Great : Journey to reseed life throughout the Milky Way. The only way there would : be biomass on Delta is if Didact put it back there - which would be : absolutely ridiculous. : 'Smuggler' suggests piracy. Pirates? Jackals maybe? Another species we have : not yet encountered? That's not as unrealistic as it sounds - the : Coventant only found us 2525. If the Prophets and the Elites had slipspace drives at least a millenium before the events of Halo (an acceptable guess?) than there must have been others with similar technology. Humans developed it on their own, but that was supposedly and excpetion. There must have been more Forerunner ships laying around.
