In Response To: About the CBS/Crl-Atl-Delete article (Saint [lpn]) I hate to admit this, but I know that there is a little too much truth in what is being said in those articles. I can't speak for anyone else here, but I think I do use games as a sort of escape, and I have definately seen games affecting me. I dont know if this is just me, but after a long bout of gaming I have started to look at real life as if it were a game, finding good camping spots, etc... I know for a fact that people dream in halo, I have confirmed this by discussing it with others. As games continue to get more realistic, who knows how much the situation will worsen. Im not saying that we have a causality, in real life, things are rarelyl that clear cut. What I am saying is that playing games does have a psycological effect on us. How deep-seeded, or dangerous this can be is largely dependant on the person, but in some cases it can just be another building block stacked on top of greater issues. To lighten the mood, I present a cartoon, inspired by my tetris dreams... Yeah, you know the ones. |
