In Response To: Re: Matt, did you know that Halo is done?! (Matt) hi Matt, I have been following this game, spoke to some of you guys at E3 and need to ask one question. Why do you think it is taking so long to produce this game? For instance, at E3 I saw a guy run around and drive the vechiles and fire shotguns and gernade launcher etc. Seemed to be looking nice, and you guys have spent 4 years on this project already.. I mean you said "Halo is nowhere near the point where we can give a release date yet" how could this be? Surely you know what percent done you are and can comment on a summer 2001 release date? how many developers are working on the game now? is the team really only 4 people? I am just confused, I know it takes years now to develop great complex games, but you guys are going to be pushing 5 or 6 years for this one. What do you think is the main reason (besides the crazy amount of work) it is that this game is taking so long? I am not complaining I know it takes forever nowadays to produce a game, but Black and White should be out by november and it is in many ways just as grand an undertaking as Halo, also Team Fortress 2 is to come out in June and that is also another Grand undertaking. Judging by how complete the game looked at E3 it just seems that it really should be able to release by this summer? Do you think it is possible? Can you tell us what is taking so long in it's development process? Thanks!
