In Response To: Theory: Delta Halo is near Earth (replay) ah.. a halo 2 theory at last... first thing i'll like to say is that the Earth as the Ark is not confirmed, nor do we know what exactly the Ark does. It fires every operational Halo remotely, that we know, but does Truth? the Covenant knows alot of things, but some things are rather muddled by myth, e.g. the Halo rings once activated would bring them salvation, when in truth it'll wipe everything out. the second thing i want to argue about is the validity of using the Forerunner ship slipspace jump as an evidence for the proximity of Installation 05 to Earth. From what we've read from the books, we know Cortana found out that Covie Slipspace drives are far more efficient that human's, resulting in her ability to jump out from inside a planet (btw, we see part of the books acted out here, for we know prior to Cortana's miraculous jump, noone, Human or otherwise, has attempted a jump from inside a planet's atmosphere. her culcalations used for the jump was recorded by a hostile AI in the flagship, which proceeded to send said culcalations to an enemy ship, allowing the Carrier in Halo 2 to perform the same manouver) this difference in Slipspace drive technology has allowed the Covenant to always arrive first. from what we know, the Covenant always steal technology, but never improve on it (Cortana's ability to refine covie plasma tech, in FS) however, how are we to know the Covies even used those tech to their potential, as can be seen from Cortana's slipspace jump. still, Cortana is a human AI.. could the Forerunner ship onboard High Charity have an even more powerful Forerunner Slipspace Drive? that could be the reason why it took mere minutes for Truth to arrive on Earth. the above was one possibility, that Forerunner have better slipspace tech then Covie. the second possiblity is that MC simply couldnt move from that location. how are we to know that that chamber isnt sealed when in Slipspace transition, and that MC could have had a loooong nap and just got ready for the coming battle? lol sorry for sounding however i sounded. as for the placement of the halos in a hologram, remember that all the halos were fitting into a sphere, and that thier size and position might not necassarily mean anything. |
