It will be playable at Penny Arcade Expo, but I don't know exactly when that is.
Also, early September will be about a month before the official release date, so I'd expect Microsoft to be showing it off as much as possible. I'd be very surprised if PAX and Game Stars are the *only* places with playable Halo 2 stations between now and the 9th/11th.
