In Response To: Re: Which part of 'no'...... (Dark G)

: I listen to Bungie and Bungie only for official release dates, but please
: note, someone else, who I'm assuming has a job in the gaming industry, has
: seen fit to tell 25 million people in the UK that a playable version/demo
: of HALO 2 will be at the show 1st-5th of September.

"Showing a playable demo" is a far cry from "releasing the game". I wouldn't be at all surprised if there are playable versions of Halo 2 present on the show floor, since this won't be the first event Halo 2 will be playable by the masses at. Don't expect anyone to walk out of their with a shrinkwrapped copy of Halo 2, though. Although I'm sure GAME will be happy to take pre-orders for Halo 2 at the events, which is probably close enough to "buy" that GAME can get away with writing "buy" on the flyer.

In the US, EB actually has boxes on the shelf labeled Halo 2- they're empty, covered with sleeves created by EB (not Microsoft) and if you inquire about them they offer you a pre-order. Isn't marketing wonderful?
