In Response To: Re: enkidu_h (OoACoO)

: I mostly agree with this, but I think the recipient is definitely still
: onboard the Lebanon (hence the terminal location), which has completed its
: slingshot around the sun and returned to Frigid. Why else would the
: Covenant broadcast, sent to the Lebanon, interrupt communications?

: I'm still on the fence on the crash-landing argument, because our other
: example of crashlanding, the PoA, was facing an even worse situation. Were
: the Lebanon to crashland, the survivors would be screwed, stranded on an
: inhospitable environment, so I don't understand the decision that would
: have to be made to crashland the ship. Also, Enkidu's "down
: here" comment seems to indicate the recipient is still in orbit.
: Though, a crashlanding would explain the "falling star" comment
: and the Low Battery warning (the Lebanon would be running on backup power
: systems).

I hadn't even thought of that! Good idea. Most likely the ship and the Enkidu AI on the surface of Frigid lost contact when the ship swung around the sun. Enkidu is probably commenting how he's more or less safe after that hasty calculation of trajectory around the sun. So what happens next? Is the crew on Frigid going to attempt to reboard the Lebanon? It seems that the ship isn't in very good shape, otherwise there would be no "Low Battery" warning, and they wouldn't have abandoned ship to begin with.
