Wha... what? I had no issue with the idea of paypal... that's true. I think it's a fine idea. What does that have to do with anything? : So, that said, your personal opinion that 1 helmet is enough no matter what,
: I'm trying to suggest a way to make it better for everyone involved. You
There's absolutely NOTHING WRONG with making suggestions. The stupid part - the part that triggered my post - was this comment: "If they don't have a helmets per entrants formula, I will make it my personal mission to gripe and bitch until they do." That's stupid. Period. You make a suggestion - they listen to it. If they think it's good, they incorporate it. If they don't, they don't. Making it a personal mission to gripe and bitch until someone does what you want is stupid. : It simply isn't ok to tell me it's all or nothing. You have no right to tell
See above. : Louis Wu wrote: THERE WAS A SMILEY AFTER THE "Bitching and Griping"
I didn't see the smiley. I suppose I judged the comment as consistent with your online persona, as it was... so the smiley didn't register. (And even if I HAD seen it, I think I wouldn't have believed it.) Smileys don't absolve you of all responsibility when you make comments - ESPECIALLY when the rest of the post is totally serious. (I'd point you to a fantastic example of this from Miguel not too long ago, but it looks like it's been deleted... pity.) Bottom line: Paypal is a fine idea. (I don't think I ever said it wasn't, or suggested that since it came from you, it was no longer valid, but I guess I need to be clearer.) Suggesting ideas for someone else's raffle is a fine thing to do. (Again, I don't think I ever said, or even implied, that it wasn't.) DEMANDING that someone else conform to your idea of what's fair is stupid. (I don't think I've ever been inconsistent about this. I've felt this way all my life.) Joking that you're going to do this, when it's something that's completely consistent with your normal behavior in other circumstances, is probably not the wisest thing to do. It's sort of a wolf-cry thing. |
