Missing SPARTANs

Hello. This is my first post, so don't burn me out to much, ok? This post is something I have been wanting to tell someone for a while. I don't know if it has been discussed before, but I'm going to say it anyway.
Here are the points I will try to make:
1.: John 117 is NOT the last SPARTAN. There are still the other 3 that were not present at REACH. There are also the SPARTANs that went to REACH. We don't even know if REACH fell. Did they not call for reinforcements? And then there's Linda(AKA "Player 2").
2.: What's all this I've heard about Cortana being evil and wanting the human race to be destroyed? DR. Halsey specifically said that Cortana's mission was the same as the Chief's.

If you haven't read the book, go out and read it before replying(TFOR, not The Flood).
