: The first real nonlinear scenario was Operation Tantalus, which did
: have the possibility of going in loops, and is probably what originally
: made me hate looping nonlinear games :)

Yes, that was the one.

: I believe Frigidman did invent them, for SONK. That scenario also
: invented using stationary, invisible monsters as gun turrets.

He's a true genious - he missed his real calling in life.

: Not really sure, but I think I first saw it in the RtM demo.

Did that predate the use of this in Pfh' Joueur?

: Multi-stop elevators, the "real" elevator trick (where you pretend
: that both the ceiling and floor are moving), airlocks, switches that
: require keys (or appear to), explosions that destroy parts of the map,
: water cannons, forcefields, virtually all of Missed Island, [casts modesty
: to the winds] a few things in Operation Vengeance :P

All great innovations - I'll have to play Missed Island now. And I'm really curious how the whole piloting the Jugger thing worked in Operation Vengeance - particularly the sequence where the player has no control.

: The coolest trick I have ever seen is what happens to the player halfway
: through RED. I won't spoil it, since it's also a major plot point :P

That *was* cool - even the weapons changed. I'd love to hear from Ian how he managed that trick. And the extra levels with the miniatrue city. RED is one of the most difficult and strange scenarios I have played, but the implementation is really, really cool.

Thanks for your posts, and for everything you've done for the volunteer effort :-)
