In Response To: Re: I'd Rather Be Surfing, Warning Earthquake Zone (Godot) : See you have the makings of a weapons section on the PID page. :) Some more thoughts while I'm at it: The P4's parent design, the Walther P38, would not have been available to a unit operating overseas in 1938. The Germans in the pyramid should have the Luger P08, which would be functionally interchangeable for gameplay purposes. The MP38 probably wouldn't have been available to Muller's unit either. They would most likely be using the Schmeisser MP18 or MP28, unless Muller knew or suspected enough about the pyramid's probable dangers to procure better submachine guns from foreign sources. Something like the Suomi KP/-31 would suit his mission well. Assuming a realistic table of equipment, the rank-and-file Germans would carry the Karabiner 98k rifle and not use submachine guns at all. Could have made for some interesting twists in gameplay, had the K98 been implemented. The use of the AK-47/AKM by the Cubans is plausible, though given the likelihood that they made a private expedition with weapons procured illicitly, older Soviet weapons like the SKS carbine could also be expected. Since at least some of them knew they were looking for something dangerous, they could have also tried to obtain more powerful G3 rifles from police or military sources once they were in Mexico. As my Usenet predecessor pointed out, the player's squadmates should be using the Beretta M9 pistol and the M203 grenade launcher. A working M203 attached to a broken M16 would have been functionally equivalent in-game. Instead of having all the M16s suffer from mysteriously bent barrels, perhaps there could have been a minigame or side quest to assemble a working M16 from salvaged parts of the damaged ones. The M16A2's limitation to firing in three round bursts could serve to balance it with the Cubans' Kalashnikovs.
