I started out with a S/W of the Month Club 1998 CD w/ the M2 Demo.
I got over the SNES Doom thing (wasted my time 'cause my computer was too slow for Marathon networking), and learned to appreciate the Bungie-made storyline.
I got into the flow, and made my own maps, shapes.
You could do all sorts of things on the Mac (i.e. author maps) that you couldn't on other machines...used to be big endian native...especially if those other machines take a crappy ROM cartridge...and both Nintendos broke shortly after anyway.
No game consoles now, only a computer and all versions of Marathon.
Now, Duality may be the thing to look for, however, the web sites aren't up at all. Whatever--I'll code the game myself if anyone is looking for a programmer. Oh, wait, I can't; the monitor's kaput.
