| In Response To: Re: is the forum dying? (Tyler) Oh man, this made me all soft and mushy inside :P There is no game that has frightened me so horribly as Mathon did when it first came out. That damn spooky space-ship filled with death and horror - to add to the horrific mood, the only other humans you encountered were scared shitless Bobs running around in panic. I almost fell out of the chair a couple of times trying to back away from the oncoming threat that was those evil green Pfhor. And when I finally reached the area right before you enter the maze in Arrival, to add to my misery, there was this super Pfhor guarding the room with its project launching staff weapon! Then as I got more experienced I could finally enter the maze and reach the recharger to recharge my shield. I was pro now - just a few more attempts and I might finally beat the first level, and I did! After a few weeks of playing, I had finally reached what I was sure was the end of the demo. There was this huge area filled with more Pfhor than anyone could ever kill. Kinda same ending as the Doom demo. But then I read somewhere, can't remember where, that this impossible area was indeed beatable! I couldn't believe it, but with termination I practiced and practiced, and then finally one day, I beat the demo! I had done it, noone could touch me now, I was the sole king and ruler of starship Marathon. Well after that I got the whole game, and a Hulk punched me in the face...
