I don't know if Marathon is the best game ever, but I'm definitely absolutely positive that contemporary gaming SUCKS REALLY BAD compared to how things were between, say, 1985 and 1995. Sure, graphics are better. Sure, sound is better. But it's just not fun to play games anymore. NetHack, Dark Castle, Shadowgate, Super Mario: these games were really fun and they lasted forever. Nowadays you can finish most (I didn't say all!) games in a weekend and even the ones that have good gameplay, can't compare to what gaming was like ten years ago and beyond. And NOBODY BUT ME SEEMS TO SEE IT OH MY GOD.
