I think in general it's about geometric patterns. You'll see that all pfhor patterns are very small, instead of large, which makes the geometric design look like dots(exageration, dont take that litterally) instead of their real patterns.
And at far away, they look like a plain color (again exageration). Some larger more clear patterns would make them more clearcut, I think.
