Well, I spent a good deal of time on Bungie.net. A lot of us have introduced those Halo fanbois to Marathon. The majority of results we get are pretty much "Man, the graphics sucked!" "There's no cutscenes to tell me a story that I would skip through anyway!" "Nobody tells me what to do while I'm going through the levels!" "OMG! ThEre si n0 cheetz!" We get a few guys who like it, and the rare fans who like it more than Halo, but all in all, the new community sees only faults induced by letting todays games go to their heads. They are the ones that would look at a remake as an excuse to pass off a bad ols game as a good new game.
Heh. I just realized that I talk as if I weren't a Marathon convert myself. :)
