This thread reminded me of the revied Jjaro planetoid I've devised for WMaiD.
While most anything is conceivable in science fiction, (particularly with 'mysterious' Jjaro tech.) I like to make things at least halfway plausible.
In an earlier post the source of a planets magnetosphere being a spinning core was mentioned. Does this mean if a planetoid (one that, perhaps has three diagonally aligned sub sphere's in, causing it to appear slightly bulbous) had no spinning core, there would be no magnetosphere?
One of the key things about this system being protected from prying eyes until WMaiD is a combination of perpetual (Jjaro engineered, heh)Coronal Mass ejections (CME's), and strong solar winds making the area hazardous for space travel.
I suppose I could invent some magic artificial magnetosphere generator (Jjaro made, of course...) but that seems... cheep.
Anyone have suggestions re: the issue above for an planetoid much like the death star model goran described?
Thanks,
