FM's review was extremely harsh and in some places it seemed as if he was searching for reasons to trash Rubicon. But for the most part, it seemed mostly to be a matter of taste. Rubicon just didn't fit his. And I'm ok with that. However, there were some things going on by email between him and Scott. I don't remember exactly, other than the petition thing, the "RED = FUN, RUBICON = CRAP" (or some such thing) thread, and the general impression I had that most of the participants in FM's forum were trying to suck up to FM by bashing Rubicon as hard as they could. You might be able to uncover those threads at Evihcra (or whatever it's called) by going to it's forums section and searching on Rubicon. : Well, marathon ain't modern warfare anyway, it's a game, but again it's
