| In Response To: Best 3rd pary scenario (Mneub12) : I am wondering what some of you think is the best Marathon 3rd party
the volunteer work here in the last number of months made me go back and kill some time on the old discussed 3rd party work, one of which was evil. a while ago i made some absolutely brutal comments about evil but after giving it another try i mostly enjoyed it. i still think the devlins look clunky and non-scary, though. and more ammo pleeez. i also tried rubicon again, and i now hate rubicon more than ever. o i tried to like it, believe me, i even played both main storylines through. but i hate it. hate it hate it hate it hate it HATE IT. i always come back to tempus irae as my favorite 3rd party scenario. something about the atmosphere, textures, sound... meggido game, too - that kicked ass. so did missed island. not a full scenario but it's just so cool anyhow. it didn't work as smoothly as it could/should have, but since the sounds, story and mapmaking were clever and fun, M1's operation tantalus will always have a very special place in my...hard disk. and to whoever made ph'joeur (sp?): an intro level with nothing to do but bumble around and do utterly boring repetitive tasks with torturously slow moving doors and bad textures DOES NOT MAKE GOOD START. in fact, it's so not good i never even bothered to ctrl+opt and see if any of the other maps might actually be less shitty. | |
